Catalogue to accompany an exhibition hosted at the Conix Museum, profiling the work of Gottschalk+Ash International. Personally inscribed by Fritz Gottschalk.

(Foreword) 'Every year the Werner Coninx Foundation presents an exhibition dedicated to a part of its art collection. Limited financial resources and the considerable time and effort which must be devoted to each prevent the Foundation from mounting further exhibitions. The result is that the rooms of our museum remain closed for almost eight months a year.

The Foundation Board is acting to put an end to this situation. Each spring, from now on, the museum on Heuelstrasse will open its doors and let light and life into its galleries. In contrast with the Coninx Collection, we would like to present art in its broadest sense, and offer artists, organizations, and foundations, the opportunity to enrich our museum with new and innovative works.

The Museum will maintain its standards for quality, original work and the best of unique renditions. Our age and times are often marked by mediocrity, superficiality, faddish works and styles, with minimum consideration for meaning and symbolism. In fact, the depth of art today often seems limited by the technologies used to create it, in whole or in part. So, we would like to show art that reflects the finest, or the unusual, or the routine, while always emphasising the most unique. This is entirely in the tradition of Werner Coninx.

Opening the series is an exhibition about the graphic work of Gottschalk+Ash International, a renowned group of designers who resist trendy, short-lived modes of graphic design. In the most admirable way, they have spent almost thirty years living up to their credo: quality.'
