This vibrant poster is the official design for the 1972 Summer Olympics held in Munich, West Germany, from August 26 to September 10, 1972. Created by the renowned German graphic designer Otl Aicher, a key figure in the Bauhaus tradition and a pioneer of the International Typographic Style, it encapsulates the event's theme of modernity, peace, and architectural innovation.

The poster prominently features the Olympic Stadium's tensile roof structure, a revolutionary design by architect Frei Otto using lightweight cables and acrylic glass panels, symbolizing openness and harmony. The central Olympiaturm (Olympic Tower) rises above, anchoring the composition. The abstract, flowing lines and dynamic curves evoke movement and the athletic spirit.
