It published the influential Sell’s Dictionary of the World’s Press and expanded to larger premises, including Brettenham House in 1934. In the 1950s Olive Hirst became the first woman managing director of a major British agency and the first female IPA fellow. After winning the Layton Trophy in 1959, the firm was absorbed in a mid-1960s merger.
