(Introduction/Translation) 'A grotesque with the reading qualities of an antiqua. The Fruiter lives, she has rhythm. The lines combine to form closed word images of individual conciseness. This writing is communicative, it addresses. Their range of applications is large. Whether book, catalogue or advertising - the Frutiger is a well-chosen medium of impressing formal quality for all areas.'

Frutiger is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Swiss typographer Adrian Frutiger in 1975, commissioned by the Roissy Airport Authority (now Charles de Gaulle Airport) in Paris for clear, legible signage. Named after its creator, it was developed to meet the demands of high-visibility environments while maintaining aesthetic elegance.

Berthold Fototype was the phototypesetting division of the renowned German type foundry H. Berthold AG, specialising in photographic typesetting technologies and exclusive typeface designs from the 1950s to the 1990s. It represented a pivotal evolution for Berthold, transitioning from traditional metal type to innovative film-based systems that revolutionized graphic design and printing during the analog-to-digital shift.
