(Introduction) 'I've known Hans Neuburg for more than half a century. If I don't say he changed the world, that doesn't mean he didn't make a fundamental contribution to accelerating its transformation. It's remarkable how his name, Neuburg (Italian for "new castle"), fits his multifaceted activities: he was always interested in creating the new. At the same time, he practiced and encouraged the new, starting from a secure base. It's there that he preserves living tradition as a benchmark.

Hans Neuburg (New Castle) has dedicated more than 50 years of his life to creating graphic designs for industrial advertising and other sectors. He has always done so in a way that perfectly fulfills their purpose. At the same time, he painted. His watercolors are known only to a small circle. Neuburg paints for pleasure. While others with barely comparable results would have felt like masters for betraying their original craft in favor of the so-called "free art," Hans Neuburg never stopped pursuing his many activities. In fact, although he painted good watercolors, he remained self-critical enough to recognize the dividing line between the joy of painting and contemporary commitment.

This enabled him to be authentically modern in his advertising graphics and play a pioneering role. For years, Hans Neuburg has also been involved in other fields...' Max Bill
