(Introduction) 'When this project to celebrate the 100th issue of Graphics International was just an idea dreamt up over lunch with Bryan Edmondson, it was hard to imagine what it would eventually grow into.

Magazines like Graphics International exist to talk about everything that's new and exciting within graphic design.

This book features many of the designers responsible for producing this work - some of the most creative and talented people around, all of whom have been featured on the pages of Graphics at some point over its past 100 issues.

In the magazine, we are used to hearing designers talk about their own projects, but here they give us a unique insight into the personalties behind the work, sharing with us what inspired them and what influenced them from an early age. It's a fascinating collection. As well as the 'design classics that many will be familiar with, the book also features some really unexpected pieces. It's visually inspiring but it's also a great read.

Heartfelt thanks to all our sponsors who have made this book possible, to SEA for turning an idea into reality and most of all. to all of the one hundred contributors.' Caroline Roberts, Editor
