Originally published circa 1970/71 with a design credit to "Alan Fletcher (Crosby/Fletcher/Forbes)", this is the later second 1972 edition manufactured by Design Objectives, with the design credited to "Alan Fletcher (Pentagram)"
"The oldest existing remains of a maze are those of the immense Egyptian labyrinth built 2000 years before Christ, and first recorded by Herodotus. In the middle ages the floor mazes in medieval cathedrals were, it is said, designed for the faithful who followed the course on their knees - an enactment of a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Found all over the world and in many different cultures, the only safe assumption is that the maze is a symbol of man's travails and destiny. This particular maze can either be considered a decorative object to be hung on the wall, or used as a puzzle to test your patience."
Condition: Very Good. All items are used and show shelf ware consistent with age. Light rubbing and tanning to board cover. Vacuum formed maze shows slight signs of tanning, overlaid perspex sheet shows slight rubbing. NOTE - The ball-bearing is missing, but can be easily replaced by lifting the perspex cover and sealing with a spot of glue. Please contact me for further information on condition.
