Mediamatic Magazine – Exquisite 20th century media and art publication. Mediamatic was founded in 1983 as a meeting place for media, television and video artists, intellectuals and scientists. After a while the first Mediamatic Magazine was published; a magazine about media, art and television that was published internationally. It acquired a legendary status among those interested in the discussion around new media. From 1994 and onwards every issue was accompanied CD-ROM/DVD-ROM art.

Subtitled "Hardware Software Wetware," this issue examines the impact of digital technology on the human subject. According to contributors like Adilkno/Bilwet, the individual is no longer a traditional ego but "wetware" — a biological interface attached to machines. It discusses the mind traveling via hardware/software while the body remains, short-circuits of the all-too-human, static literature, and data preservation in the information society.

Main Features / Articles:
  • The 1/0 Issue: Hardware Software Wetware — Editorial / Introduction (Adilkno/Bilwet on wetware)
  • Virtual Voices (parts 1 and 2)
  • Introduction to Static Literature (on data storage, notation, and the crusade against static in information processing)
  • Famous Artists School / Famous Writer Tool (reflections on configured systems and tools)
  • Additional texts on human-machine interfaces, digital subjectivity, and the body/mind split in the emerging digital era.
