(Introduction) 'This catalogue describes the typographic resources of Aaron Burns & Company, a division of Rapid Typographers Inc. Included are foundry and machine faces to an extent calculated to accommodate most of the needs of our clients. Just scan through the Index now and you will realize how immense our type selections are. However, no one source can ever claim completeness (even as we print this edition, some new type faces are being announced) ...so, if there's a face we don't show that's new and desirable -ask for it-we'll probably have it. The tools of the trade are the same for all, but it's the manner in which these tools are used that distinguishes the unusual from the ordinary. Here, at Aaron Burns & Company, in addition to the tools, are experience, skills and imagination that far transcends the elementary mechanics of typesetting. And here, also, is a healthy respect for technological advancements manifest in new equipment, new techniques, and new systems of typesetting. For instance... there are now four Photo Typositors here in daily use, affording display type in sizes up to 144 point, with many degrees of italics and proportion unavailable in any metal type. These Photo Typositors also overcome the restrictions and shortcomings of letter-and-word-spacing in metal type.
