Rare opportunity to acquire a complete set.

The magazine Typographica – brainchild of founder, editor, designer, and renowned typographer Herbert Spencer – had a brief life, with a total of 32 issues (split over two series of x16) was published over nineteen years. But its influence stretched, and stretches, far beyond its modest distribution and print runs of the time. Remarkably, Spencer never intended to turn a profit, so no expenses were spared in the making of the magazine.

Typographica is considered one of the most important and influential post-war visual arts magazines of its time. The magazines were profusely illustrated throughout, with colour and b/w plates, and commonly included different paper stocks and coloured inks, various inserts, advertisements, tipped-in sheets and fold-outs.

Condition: Very Good. All titles are used and show shelf ware consistent with age. Of all the sets of Typographica I’ve handled over the years, the general condition of this run is rather good. All issues show minimal rubbing and marking to varying degrees on the covers. Light tanning to interior pages. Happy to answer any questions.

Standard Postage: Provides 'limited cover' for loss/damage only up to £30GBP. Please select the alternative ‘full cover' option at checkout for more valuable items! Excess shipping charges will be reimbursed. Any import charges/taxes, if incurred, to be covered by the buyer.
