Service brochure for Point Limited.

(About) 'Point is set up to provide a service for designers at a variety of levels. Our reputation has been built primarily on our capacity as 'conventional' typesetters working with a Cora driven Linotronic system. Within this system we hold a comprehensive range of Linotype laser fonts which we can set in increments of one-tenth of a point from 1 to 186 point. Typesetting can be supplied in the form of galleys or made-up pages and output on bromide or film.'

(Preface) 'The advent of PostScript and the phenomenal growth in supporting software has resulted in the most revolutionary development in letter assembly since the move from metal to film, some twenty years ago. It is perhaps even more significant because the new technology enables the 'non specialist' to have direct access to the process which was formerly the sole domain of the typesetter. The next few years will see designers and typesetters evolving new ways of working together, with the designer becoming more involved with the generation of the text itself. Just how much responsibility a designer takes will depend on the disposition of the particular designer or design practice and the nature of the work...'
