(Introduction) 'We have struggled for years trying to find a satisfactory way of showing and explaining our graphic design. What you see here is our latest attempt to do justice to ourselves: a selection from the work we completed in the year 2000. It is customary in introductions to try to encapsulate and summarise what follows in one or two ideas.
In this case, the idea behind our design work is that there is no single idea. Each project is approached as a particular set of problems, every one is designed individually - uniquely - without recourse to formulae or pet styles.
If there is anything the projects have in common, it is the enthusiasm and energy lavished on them. We treat everything we do as important. The best description of this spirit is the motto of the American Postal Service, written in the era of the Pony Express, and it seems an admirable ethic to try to live by. Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.'
