(About this book) 'Japan Typography Association was established for the purpose of holding study meetings, lecture meetings and exhibitions, protection and training of authors, collecting and providing information, and enlightenment. We have been continuing various activities such as edition and publishment of printed matters and events and we have received the 24th year.
This book is composed of all the works of logotypes. typefaces, symbol marks and pictograms as elements of typography which were contributed to the publications of the Association from 1985 to December, 1986. The typefaces and pictograms were the publicly invited works for 10th yearbook, and the logotypes and symbol marks were the publicly invited new face works for No. 73 to No.81 of the monthly magazine, Typographics (ti:), which constitute vol. 3 following the two preceding ones.
Receipt and registration numbers of these works are in accordance with the order of sending and receipt. The feature of this book is that the works, the authors and the users are shown in the even size, so that you can identify them easily.
At present, the book is available at about 1,000 famous book stores throughout Japan. It is also kept and used as a material concerning copy right, at public organs including the National Diet Library, Copyists Club House, Tokyo First Lawyers Association, Tokyo Second Lawyers Association, Government Publication Center and the Morgue of Patent Office.
This book includes all the works created in Japan throughout the year, with its content being classified by field. We hope that the value of the materials and the information can be utilised for data function, and that it will be suitable for the public records.'
