Interiors + Industrial Design was a leading American design magazine published in New York by Whitney Publications under publisher Charles E. Whitney. It evolved from earlier titles like The Upholsterer (founded 1888) and Interiors (from around 1940), adopting the expanded name Interiors + Industrial Design in the early to mid-1950s to encompass both interior spaces and product/industrial design during the postwar boom of mid-century modern aesthetics. Targeting professionals such as interior designers, architects, industrial designers, and retail decorators, it featured high-quality photography of innovative residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, furniture, materials, and events, often showcasing emerging talents and modernist innovations.
