Josef Müller-Brockmann (May 9, 1914 – August 30, 1996) was a Swiss graphic designer, author, and educator. He was a pioneer of the International Typographic Style, and is recognised for his simple designs and his clean use of typography, shapes and colours which inspire many graphic designers even today.

A classic title, 'Gestaltungsprobleme des Grafikers' sets out Müller-Brockmann's approach to solving visual design problems; with the first part of the book's three sections dealing with the path from illustrative to objective graphic art, followed by the fundamental considerations for the work of the graphic designer, concluded by the systematic training of graphic designers, as it was imparted by Müller-Brockmann at the school for design in Zurich during his time.
