During the mid 2000's Howard Smith Paper initiated a series of lectures all profiling the works of eminent artists and designers of the time; that include Paul Davis, Alexander Gelman, Paul Graham, Lawrence Weiner, Storm Thorgerson, Felice Varini, and Erik Kessels. Each of the seven lectures was supplemented by a limited edition hard back journal, which were profusely illustrated with the works of each speaker whilst promoting the Think4 range of HSP paper stocks. With a foreword by Adrian Shaughnessy, this journal focuses on the works of Alexander Gelman.
'Alexander Gelman is an American designer, entrepreneur, author and philanthropist, based in New York and Tokyo. His work, widely shown around the world, is included in public and private collections. Among them The Smithsonian Institution, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, Bibliothèque National de France, Denver Art Museum and Hermitage. Employing various media for print, screen, sound and physical environments Gelman challenges the boundaries between art, science, philosophy, commerce and popular culture.' (Source) studioglmn
