During the mid 2000's Howard Smith Paper initiated a series of lectures all profiling the works of eminent artists and designers of the time; that include Paul Davis, Alexander Gelman, Paul Graham, Lawrence Weiner, Storm Thorgerson, Felice Varini, and Erik Kessels. Each of the seven lectures was supplemented by a limited edition hard back journal, which were profusely illustrated with the works of each speaker whilst promoting the Think4 range of HSP paper stocks. With a foreword by Adrian Shaughnessy, this journal focuses on the works of Storm Thorgerson.
Storm Thorgerson (1944-2013) has been hailed as the most significant rock music album cover artist in history. His friendship at school in Cambridge with future Pink Floyd band members led to him designing almost all their album covers and associated artwork, and his outstandingly creative and surrealistic designs from the 1960s-70s and later are iconic. The artwork from his London-based graphic design studio Hipgnosis, including that for many other artists as well as Pink Floyd, was exhibited around the world and is featured in the book.
