Communication by Design (founded in 1978 as 3D Communication by Geoff Aldridge and Mike Tibbs) was a prestigious, multi-disciplinary British design consultancy active through the 1980s and 1990s. Operating on the principle that commercial understanding must precede creative execution, the studio managed multi-million pound visual strategies for major clients like the BBC, the Department of the Environment, and British Telecom International. To scale its corporate capabilities while preserving direct partner involvement, the firm developed three specialised divisions: Financial Communication, Marketing Communication, 3D Communication (3D).
