(Preface/Translation) 'Why Zeezucht? You have before you the first issue of Zeezucht, a magazine that is directly related to Theater Zeebelt. It was founded from the desire to record certain activities in Zeebelt and provide them with background information. Zeezucht is therefore definitely not just another art magazine, but is linked to the programming of Zeebelt, like a wagon to a locomotive. It complements what happens there, sheds a different light and also offers room for commentary. The programming of Zeebelt has always had a certain flexibility, so that current events can be responded to. That is also why Zeezucht will appear irregularly; the aim is to publish twice a year.'
