This poster, titled "Head Secure, Shaft Sound", is a classic example of mid-20th-century British workplace safety propaganda, designed to promote safe tool use. Created by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), a UK organization founded in 1916 to reduce industrial injuries, it was published during the 1940s or 1950s, a period of heightened safety awareness post-World War II.
Leonard Cusden (1898–1979) was a British commercial artist and poster designer who created hundreds of influential safety posters for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
