Published by the ICA to coincide with the exhibition Jim Shaw: Thrift Store Paintings, 28 September-5 November, 2000, Institute of Contemporary Arts, London. This exhibition documents Shaw's collection of Thrift Store Paintings assembled over the last two decades. The collection consist of several hundred paintings by unknown amateur artists purchased from second-hand stores and flea markets across the United States.
