(Editorial) We have changed, expanded and, we hope, improved. In a world of changing taste we have faced the problem, not unknown to our predecessors, of attempting to please, if not to delight, a very wide variety of readers with almost as wide a variety of subjects; philosophy and history, humour and mystery, verse, design and printing. We have not neglected the applications of science and the theatre of our time. Where we have looked to our past we have sought inspiration for our future; where we peer into that future we believe we glimpse that ordered industry to be. Our contributors, though diverse, are but a microcosm of that multinational world in which lies our appeal. We would wish to address our readers each in his mother tongue. Our editorial is offered in as many languages as our space permits. We regret the omissions.
