(Preface) Bob Gill is a graphic designer, an illustrator, a teacher, a copy writer, an art director, a film-maker and a terrible jazz pianist.
He went to London on a whim in 1960, stayed 15 years and is now back in New York.
The 146 examples of the wit and imagination of Gill's solutions to the problems in this collection are remarkable. But the most remarkable thing is that although 30 years of his work is represented here, you won't be able to tell Gills early designs from his recent ones.
