(The Exhibition) 'The Rat für Formgebung and the «Gestaltkreis im Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie», who have made this exhibition possible, wish to thank the Council of industrial Design for their invitation to present a selection of well-designed German industrial products in the Council's new exhibition rooms, and are honoured to be the first country to receive such an invitation.
At the request of our hosts we are confining our exhibition exclusively to technical design. It has been our endeavour to provide an instructive picture of the state of German industrial design in this field. The photographs displayed bear witness to the fact that industrial design in Germany has to a certain degree succeeded in influencing mechanical engineering.'
