Summery: Six (from a series of seven) ICI sponsored prints designed by Dieter Rot, Norman Ives, Armin Hofmann, Alan Fletcher, Enzo Mari, Pieter Brattinga, and Jean-Michel Folon, commissioned by the Plastics Division of ICI to show the potentialities of stamping foils in graphic design. The designs are carried out in foils made by four British manufacturers; Letraset, Milford Astor, Peerless and Geo. M Whiley. All the foils are based on 'Milinex', ICI's polyester film. Each piece (in the series of 7) was a response to the poem Reflections by then poet laureate C Day Lewis. The prints were originally issued in card envelopes with foil numbers (1-7) imposed on the cover. In addition to the envelopes, a perspex holder was also available to display them on the wall. Overall design composed by Crosby/Fletcher/Forbes.
