(Publishers review) 'Every year, hundreds of books are submitted for assessment to the jury of the Stichting Best Verzorgde Boeken . They choose a maximum of 33 books that distinguish themselves in the care of their design, typography, image treatment and graphic-technical production.
The selection is exhibited annually in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and in a number of other places in the Netherlands and abroad. The bilingual catalog The Best Dutch Book Designs / De Best Verzorgde Boeken will be published at the same time as the exhibition at the Stedelijk. This presents the selected books in words and images with detailed information about the materials and techniques used.
The catalog is designed by a different Dutch designer every year. This time the choice fell on the young designer duo Haller Brun (Sonja Haller and Pascal Brun).
It has become a beautifully open, robust book of 612 pages in which the 33 award-winning books are presented in words and images.'
