One of the least known aspects of "Picasso's many-faceted genius is his mastery of the art of the poster. His work in this field has been as revolutionary and far-reaching as in the other branches of the visual arts.

Published with the approval of the artist, this volume contains lithographic reproductions of virtually all of Picasso's important work in this field. The 24 posters, the originals of which, in many cases were supplied by M. Picasso, are faithfully reproduced in his original colors. The introduction traces the development of French poster art and analyses the forces on which Picasso draws in the development of his poster techniques.

In addition, it contains informal, biographical material about the artist that helps us to understand his technical characteristics.
