"Theo Crosby's 60th Birthday: In appreciation of his birthday, Theo Crosby as a great friend of the arts, and collector of ethnographic masks, here we have sixth new additions to his collection, fresh from the hands of painters, sculptors, designers, architects, writers, and other free-thinking friends from around the globe. Their creations show a correspondingly wide range of human, animal, vegetable and mineral attributes. It may be hard to decide which present in one mask's screen of grey plastic smoke emanating from a thick plastic cigarette – guaranteed anyway to prevent its wearer smoking temporarily. In similar fashion, many of these masks carry on their pre-historic work of quelling the socially undesirable, by threatening or charming devils into submission through imitating. With a robot-mask on, offices stacked with High Tech machinery lose their power to intimidate. But there are times when the mischievous spirit world is at peace. Then you can transform your face into a landscape, with a farmyard bustling between your ears or a boat gliding across the smooth lake of your countenance."
Condition: Good. All titles are used and show shelf ware consistent with age. Light rubbing to cover, occasional small tear and chip to edges. Light tanning to interior pages. NOTE - One cover page missing, that which carries he above text extract.
