(Preface) 'Futurefarmers is a design studio specializing in creative investigation and the development of new work. Through collaboration, we explore the relationship of concept and creative process between interdisciplinary artists. Futurefarmers was founded in 1995 by Amy Franceschini. Since its inception, a variety of projects have been realized ranging from web design for commercial clients; Lucas Film, NASA, NEC, and Swatch to print design, illustration, animation and content development. Futurefarmers produces commercial projects as a means to sustain art projects and the Artist in Residency Program.
Futurefarmers is a natural system open to change and spontaneity. Depending on the project, we assemble groups of specialists to work together. These groups have formed a series of configurations which make up the ever-shifting landscape of Futurefarmers. The following pages will present the fruits of these spheres of interaction.'
