(Foreword) 'The first GRAPHIS book on packaging appeared eleven years ago and has long been out of print. Yet the demand for it or for a further volume in the same series has remained so insistent that we finally decided to face the not inconsiderable effort involved in compiling a second issue. This effort is now behind us, and we are able to present a work which mirrors the situation of packaging today and at the same time reviews the outstanding developments and achievements of the last decade on an international scale.
