(Preface) 'The AGI has evolved and grown over the years but really hasn't changed. It is unique among professional organizations, and it's difficult to describe or define because AGI is unique. As the old saying goes 'you have to be there'. For one of the (or the) most prestigious design organizations in the world, it is possibly the least known and least understood among those who practice in our profession. Because AGI is an honorary society, one cannot simply apply for membership, but must be sponsored by other members and be accepted into the. family. For it is like a family, certainly not an institution . it is barely an organization there are no bricks and mortar. It is more important than that. AGI is a fusion of friendships an acknowledgement of respect for each other's character and work. AGI is the feeling of camaraderie and closeness that doesn't happen too many times in professional life...'
