(Preface) 'This is the first edition of Issue. It outlines the ambitions of the Design Museum and the background to our work over the past three years as the Conran Foundation has moved towards the opening of the Museum. Issue will meet the changing demands for information as the Museum becomes established and as the programmes develop. It will examine themes raised by the Museum's exhibitions and programmes and will introduce a range of ideas not immediately explored through exhibitions and events. The majority of contributions to Issue will originate from outside sources, reflecting the range of interests which the Museum will address - from consumer issues to design management. Most important, Issue will be a forum for feedback from our members.'
