Clean run of x7 issues, #1 (2006) – #7 (2011).

Founded in 2006 in New Zealand, National Grid was an experimental graphic design magazine that challenged conventional notions of graphic design history. Operating in the gray areas between academia, professional practice, art, and design, it featured diverse content. For its debut issue, Steve Kerr explored the allure of the boring postcard, Luke Wood interviewed Dylan T. “Phats” Herkes, and Noel Waite advocated for communication design in New Zealand. Contributions also included work from Lisa Grocott, the Rev. Holden Gunn, Joanna Anderson, Aaron Beehre, James Maxwell, Harold Grieves, Jonty Valentine, and Max Hailstone.
