(Preface) 'Design from Scandinavia is published for the fourth time. A selection of the best and latest in Scandinavian furniture, textiles and other forms of design for the human milieu. A varied picture-book, a kaleidoscope presenting in brief glimpses the variety of production in the four Nordic countries. Our primary aim is not to present individual products in the form of a catalogue, but to assemble things to form a whole, to give an impression of the milieu ideals that determined the form of the individual product as part of a wider setting. We hope that this presentation of design developments in Den-mark, Finland, Norway and Sweden can be a living inspiration.
