(Preface) 'The posters shown in the exhibition are primarily drawn from the competitions for the best posters in the GDR, which have been held regularly since 1966. It also includes those, mostly early works, that have already become part of the tradition of visual art in our country. The posters come predominantly from the collection of the Association of Visual Artists. Further contributions were made by the Academy of Arts of the GDR and the Museum of German History.'
