(Introduction/Translation) 'The exhibition now being presented to the public constitutes a paradigmatic demonstration of how the practice of private collecting can have very beneficial effects for the enrichment of public heritage. In this sense, therefore, both Lluís Plandiura and Alexandre de Riquer become two names of obligatory reference, since the history of the formation of the collections of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya cannot be written without bearing in mind the contribution of both personalities. Not in vain, the purchase of their collections, made in 1903 and 1921, respectively, allowed the enlargement of the migrated collections of advertising art that until then were kept in a public museum. From this perspective, the exhibition wants to pay tribute to both collectors, but above all to their attitude, to the interest that awakened, in both personalities, the poster as a very precious artistic object. It is clear that thanks to their efforts, these types of productions surpassed the fundamentally advertising function for which they were initially conceived to become authentic artistic objects...'
