Kwintessens was a quarterly Flemish magazine dedicated to design and fashion, published from 1992 to 2016 by Design Vlaanderen in collaboration with the Flanders Fashion Institute. Each issue explored a unique theme, such as identity, body modification, or societal roles for designers, and was uniquely designed by a different graphic artist or studio, showcasing innovative typography, layouts, and visual storytelling that pushed creative boundaries. This collaborative format highlighted emerging and established talents in the Belgian design landscape, blending essays, portfolios, interviews, and trend analyses to foster dialogue on contemporary aesthetics, cultural influences, and the intersection of form and function in visual culture.
