Liber Librorum (1955) is an international collaborative project issued by the Royal Library in Stockholm to mark the 500th anniversary of the Gutenberg Bible. Leading book designers from many countries each created their own typographic interpretation of a passage from the Book of Genesis. Their individual solutions were printed and assembled into sets in Stockholm, forming a unique collection of fine printing. The portfolio showcases distinguished designers including Bruce Rogers, Hermann Zapf, Jan van Krimpen, Gotthard de Beauclair, Joseph Blumenthal, Ward Ritchie, and others. Some pages are illustrated, with several in English. Presented in a decorative cloth folder, the work celebrates Gutenberg’s legacy through contemporary mastery of book design.
