Organised as an expansive winter programming schedule, the 1959 seasonal calendar at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam concurrently hosted several major showcases highlighting international avant-garde art across multiple mediums. Running through February, the overlapping schedule combined prominent individual exhibitions for French abstract painter Jean Bazaine, tapestry master Jean Lurçat, and Brazilian printmaker Fayga Ostrower, while teasing upcoming "verwacht" features for Dadaism, Germaine Richier, and photographer Werner Bischoff. The accompanying promotional materials were designed personally by museum director Willem Sandberg.

They may suffer from soiling, fading or discolouration, in addition to more significant tears, loss, creasing.
