Organised as a definitive historical exploration, the 1958–1959 "Dada: kroniek van een beweging" (Chronicle of a Movement) exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam offered a rare, comprehensive survey tracking the global birth and evolution of the anti-art phenomenon. Running through February 2, 1959, this landmark retrospective mapped out the original sub-chapters of the radical group across its foundational centers, documenting the subversion and visual poetry born in Zürich, New York, Paris, Berlin, Cologne, and Hannover. The accompanying promotional materials were designed personally by museum director Willem Sandberg.
