Organised as a major retrospective dedicated to pioneering abstraction, the 1957 "Paul Klee" exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam offered an expansive look into the whimsical, geometric world of the Swiss-German master. Running until March 25, this landmark presentation meticulously traced Klee's diverse stylistic journey across Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism, highlighting his profound influence on the evolution of mid-century modern art. The accompanying promotional materials were designed personally by museum director Willem Sandberg.
