This set of five promotional pieces was produced for Naturalis, a limited-edition magazine series created by GF Smith to showcase the work of leading photographers, artists and image-makers. Each piece promoted a different issue, featuring Daniel Gustav Cramer, Lee Funnell, Peter Blake, Wim Crouwel and Peter Saville. The accompanying texts highlighted the distinctive visual work presented in each publication, from Cramer’s forest and underwater landscapes and Funnell’s beach-found materials to Blake’s ephemera and Crouwel’s graphic design practice. Printed on GF Smith papers, the pieces demonstrated the relationship between image-making, paper and print, while forming a striking set of promotional ephemera from the Naturalis project.
