(Preface) 'The colour your eye sees is influenced directly by the colour surrounding it. Use the colour isolator within this flap by placing either side of it over your chosen tint. This will enable you to look at the selected colour against a black or white surround.'

(Introduction) 'The accurate identification of colour-tint values is vital to designers of printed products, particularly with the advent of electronic publishing where the graphic designer often takes the responsibility for specifying precise tint values for the printed production. This tint specifier is a simple and accurate guide for both designers and printers. Its correct use will ensure accuracy and avoid disappointment at the printing stage...'
