(Preface) 'Unlike all previous Atelier exhibitions, the Atelier 11 exhibition is entirely devoted to graphics and drawings by young artists living in the Netherlands. The question was whether the same pattern should be continued after ten Atelier exhibitions, or whether, as a test, a slightly different set-up could be used.

In order to make the presentation a little more connected, we have now chosen an exhibition that shows a limited area of the visual arts. This arrangement meant that we could occupy ourselves a little more intensively with the particular worm of art. It is conceivable that certain other groups of artists will be featured in subsequent Atelier exhibitions. During the preparation of this exhibition, we visited quite a few artists and saw exhibitions in muses and galleries. In the final choice, we were guided as little as possible by directions in art, and as much as possible with regard to quality. We are aware of the personal element in this: someone else would almost certainly have chosen other artists (Also).

In addition to a variety of techniques (silkscreens, etchings, woodcuts, drawings in ink, pencil, colored pencil, etc.), there is a variation in currents. Constructivist, almost surrealist, zero-like, (abstract) expressionist and realistic tendencies are represented, and in addition to geometric-abstract work, for example, narrative work can be seen. We have channeled this pluriformity by introducing a certain sequence in the exhibition circuit.'
